Boston, August 14, 2018. Disney Studios leverages Bare Tree Media’s expertise to create digital content to engage fans across social media and messaging platforms for its Christopher Robin film. Winnie The Pooh fans can now use animated stickers and custom Twitter emojis to enjoy all the friends of the Hundred Acre Wood. The innovative campaign doubles as entertainment for consumers everywhere and a low-cost communicative marketing tool driving up engagement through personal brand ambassadorship.
As part of the film’s marketing efforts, Disney wanted to leverage the popularity of mobile messaging stickers and Twitter Emojis as marketing tools for Christopher Robin. Disney had commissioned Bare Tree Media previously to illustrate and animate their iMessage stickers behind the blockbuster Black Panther, and animate their Facebook stickers for Thor: Ragnarok and Star Wars: The Last Jedi. With the release of the Christopher Robin film, Disney returned to Bare Tree Media to create a custom iMessage sticker pack and Twitter emojis.
The sticker content doubled both as a marketing tool and as a revenue stream as fans included the stickers within their daily messaging conversations. Marketers are turning to the growing popularity of mobile messaging apps for its low-cost personal brand ambassadorship. According to HubSpot, 24% of marketers plan to add mobile messaging content within the next year.
Besides Disney, Bare Tree Media has also created and published messaging stickers and emoji apps for Warner Bros, Lionsgate and Netflix. “ We are proud of our studio relationships and to be at the helm of driving conversational marketing initiatives behind great films and TV releases.” says Robert Ferrari, CEO, Bare Tree Media. “ There are very few marketing mediums that allow consumers to voluntarily align with a brand in their personal conversations with friends and family. Messaging stickers allow consumers to become active brand ambassadors in a more natural and personal manner”, he added.
Bare Tree Media also has the ability to add functionality to stickers allowing recipients to click optional links for opening more information about a film, brand or campaign. Beyond messaging the company has expanded into the branded augmented reality (AR) space. Bare Tree Media now designs, develops and publishes custom Snapchat Lens and Facebook Camera AR Filters for brands.
